“What you can plan is too small for you to live.
To be human is to become visible
while carrying what is hidden as a gift to others.
To remember the other world in this world
is to live in your true inheritance.” – David Whyte
Join us in a deep and honest conversation about the essence of being human.
Gathering in a space of closeness and community atmosphere, Dreams for Life Association is proposing you a never before seen meeting.
In a space of sacred speech and conversations, those who are present will have the chance to meet and discover two soulcentric adults and elders of the Earth and guides for wholing, self-healing and soul initiation. This event is a chance to (re)discover the essence of our natural minds and souls.
Our natural minds possess astonishing resources, untapped potentials and depths that we might not even know exist until we discover how to access them, cultivate their powers, and eventually integrate them into our everyday lives. In this event we’ll talk about these depths and potentials — which we call the four facets of the Self, or the four dimensions of our innate human wholeness.
Your soul is your true self, those qualities that most deeply define and express who you are and the unique gift that you were born to bring to the world, a world so much in need of the socially transforming contributions of initiated, actively engaged adults. To encounter the soul is to discover the mystical image you were born with, which reveals the path to your greatest personal fulfillment as well as the essence of your true service to society (the cross-cultural wisdom traditions say these are one and the same). Soulcraft practices spring from nature-based cultures, modern depth psychology, the poetic tradition, and wilderness rites of passage—to comprise a truly contemporary Western path to soul discovery and soul initiation.
This event is an open and honest conversation with Doug Van Houten (USA), who is an Animas Valley Institute guide and Wendy Robertson Fyfe (Scotland), who is following the Soulcraft Apprenticeship & Initiation Program at Animas Valley Institute.
Animas Valley Institute (USA) is the organization founded by Bill Plotkin, the author of “Soulcraft, “Nature and the Human Soul” and “Wild Mind”. More details at www.animas.org
Join us in this event and let yourself be surprised by the unexpected beauty of this encounter. An encounter with fellow humans that are walking on their own path towards their true self, but also the encounter with the door towards your profound being.
Doug Van Houten (USA) has an eye for the heartbreakingly beautiful and a wild heart that sings in the dark night of his own soul. He is beekeeper, artist, brave explorer of the “darker than darkness”, student/facilitator of the Great Work, and Animas trained vision fast guide. In his own backyard of the rolling Kentucky hills, Doug organizes retreats/conferences/
Wendy Robertson Fyfe, MA (UK), is a Renaissance woman; a nature-based soul-centric guide and mentor, poet, writer, previously Associate Lecturer at The Open University in Scotland, psychosynthesis psychotherapist, and photographer. She previously worked as a Cultural Historian, researching the development and professionalism of/allies between medicine and law from the 19th Century in England with regard to redefining women’s bodies and social roles. In1995, the Wild, in the form of an Autumn Spruce along the Findhorn River, Scotland, invited her to sing. In 2001 she first offered ‘The Walk’ in East
Lothian, filmed by BBC Scotland. Her listening eye has since led her to all sorts of awe-inspiring and wondrous places around the globe. She is passionate about, and committed to, this historic moment of ‘The Great Turning’ and through her journeying into and over lands experiences deeply Earth’s urgency for us to dive down to Holy roots; to our inheritance in Imagination and Intelligence of Earth’s Dreaming claiming our original mythopoetic voices…. returning with our unique and wild notes in service of Earth Community. Wendy lives in Dunbar, Scotland, the birthplace of John Muir.
