“Weaving songs and stories” is an 8 days training course bringing together youth workers and human workers who are passionate to deepen into the arts of storytelling and singing.
- Allow yourself to be captivated by sacred stories, by the ancestral wisdom they carry, their hidden messages and symbols.
- Allow yourself to be immersed into the magic of melody and rhythm, of ancient songs and wild callings.
- Light the fire of your imagination and tend it well. She has gifts to offer you!
You are invited on a journey to reconnect with your inner self, body, mind and emotions, to express openly and creatively, to get out of your comfort zone, to cultivate trust, openness and connection with yourself, others and nature. You are invited on a journey to reconnect with the wild and sacred wisdom of our ancestors, the nature, the Mystery. Are you saying “yes”?
The objectives of this training course are:
- To introduce into youth work 2 innovative methodologies, based on storytelling and music.
- To equip youth workers with professional competences (knowledge, skills & attitudes) for using the 2 methodologies
About the way we work:
The methods used during the training will be based on non-formal education and experiential learning and include:
– Creative expression (dance, movement, poetry, journaling, painting)
– Connection with nature
– Deepening questions, mirroring, tracking
– Holistic education, soul-based work
– Mindfulness and meditation
– Rituals and practices based on wisdom of native cultures
– Somatic and embodied learning
This training course invites human wholeness, a mature and resourceful way of being in the world. We invite authenticity and respect, depth and lightness, grief and laughter, wildness and responsibility.
Preparation to enter the realm of the program
- Those who will be accepted in the training will follow a preparation phase which will help them to enter the realm of the training course. This will include individual psycho-spiritual preparation (e.g. journaling on certain questions, self-time in nature and several other invitations).
- The preparation phase will also include going through an online learning process (reading different materials, watching videos) related to the topic of the training.
- Applying to this program requires also the commitment to follow the preparation process.
During the training we wish to create profound experiences. Knowledge, information and facts are very important and will be provided within the training, but what moves us, what drives us to create a long-lasting impact in our field of activity is the joined elements of both intellectual understanding and deep experience processes that unlock the personal wisdom and deep knowing.
Art-based and ritual-based work
We’ll explore the landscape of the psyche through a variety of art practices, including creative expression, self-designed ceremony, solo exercises while wandering on the land, group work, embodiment, movement, voice dialogue, journaling, singing and deep imagery work.
A vision with a task
After the training course we want to pay special attention to the dissemination activities, which will contribute to a learning journey and inner growth of youth work. This phase will be as important as the training itself. We want to create a powerful impact through our project. As a continuation of the experience each participant will have to implement at least one ACTION in their own community (dissemination event/workshop for youth).
