A Journey into Soil

A Journey into Soil: Erasmus+ training in Ireland

A Journey into Soil: healing ourselves and the land from the ground up
20 – 29 April 2023, in Carrickmacross, Ireland

“Síolta Chroí” (Seeds of the Heart), a Regenerative Agriculture Farm and part of the Ecosystem Restoration Camp worldwide movement, is hosting this 8-day training on-site with the land and soil in Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan.

Along with participants from Ireland, we will work with our partners from KovieTY (Poland) and Dreams for Life (Romania) to host participants to explore the intersection between Soil, Soul and Society.

🌍 ‘Soil – healing ourselves and the land from the ground up’ training course is part of the project “Soil, Soul, Society – holistic approaches for youth development” which is a Cooperation Partnership project and is co-financed by the European Union through the Erasmus+ Programme, under Key Action 2 (2022-1-RO01-KA220-YOU-000088509). The general project aims at enhancing the sense of initiative, active citizenship and well-being of young people and youth workers from Ireland, Romania and Poland, and other European countries as an extended impact.

Recognising humans as part of the natural world and agents within the complex ecosystems, this course will look at regenerative practices for soil restoration, ecosystem restoration and the restoration of humans-as-nature. There will be practical and on-site demonstrations and getting hands into the soil, as well as space for understanding and embodying the learning from soil, land and wider nature at this time, and incorporating these into the work on regenerating people, wider nature and communities.

🌍 Topics the course will cover:

🌱 Introduction to regenerative agriculture
🌱 The Soil Food Web
🌱 Practical visits to local farms
🌱 Food and Seed Sovereignty
🌱 Social Justice through Soil
🌱 Regenerating people and wider nature

🌍The right people

It is especially for professional youth workers who are active in the youth field (youth workers, trainers, educators, NGO leaders and mentors) who are willing to explore and develop themselves in the areas of regenerative practices for soil restoration, ecosystem restoration and the restoration of humans-as-nature.
